World Power Monitor tracks how much electricity each country generates, which fuels it comes from and how much carbon it emits, using annual and monthly statistics from Ember, and adds live operator data for grid zones where a public feed allows it. Latest annual statistics cover 2025.

Ember statistics Ethiopia Ethiopia generated 33.4 TWh of electricity in 2025, according to Ember. Hydro was the largest source at 96.5%, followed by wind (3.3%) and solar (0.1%). Demand was 31.0 TWh and each kWh generated emitted 23 gCO2/kWh. Germany Germany generated 500 TWh of electricity in 2025, according to Ember. Wind was the largest source at 27.2%, followed by coal (20.6%) and solar (17.9%). Demand was 520 TWh and each kWh generated emitted 330 gCO2/kWh.
